As a business analyst, I oversee and define our platform to help our customers with adopting homogenized operations and impactful strategies.

I am convinced that optimized and transparent logistics activities lead to a higher return on investment and that all parties can make a contribution to a more efficient organization.

Since I was young I wanted to design and create things, especially with computers. Now that we are building a SaaS platform for our customers it is a dream come true. I have come to understand that building a platform is more than just writing code. There are many other aspects that are equally important and I have great pleasure in figuring out how these things work.

With my background in Computer Science I feel confident tackling any technical challenges coming my way. Surrounded by people who have their own passion and expertise, we can take on complex problems and find solutions that fit exactly the wants and needs of our customers. As professor in Applications of Optimization and Simulation at Tilburg University I’ve seen a lot of do’s and don’ts in applying business analytics. At BlueRock TMS I have the chance to apply the best of the best methods and practices. We have great customers with very interesting problems where we can obtain substantial improvements.

There is a lot of ‘talk’ about big data, artificial intelligence en optimization. The nice thing of our time is that a lot of people see the possibilities. But the flip side of the coin is that only a very few know how to get there. You need good questions, reliable data and technical skills (and this costs more time than you think) and a good feeling of when to apply which algorithm.

It is fantastic to work here at BlueRock TMS with a very talented and multiple skilled team. In a short time of several months we have been able to deliver projects that others haven’t considered possible to develop in years!

I have always had the vision to contribute to a more sustainable business model for the logistics sector: we do just that with the innovative software we develop at BlueRock TMS. The experience of having worked for a logistics service provider helps me understand the underlying dynamics of many customer needs.

As a Business Analyst I support both managerial and operational users, which means I get a lot of feed-back from the shop floor. I enjoy working closely with the customer to figure out what actual business needs are and it’s a wonderful challenge to translate these into new product features that provide a tangible value to the customer.

While I was working as Logistics business partner – leading the optimization of logistic activities within the European perimeter and acting as a hyphen between Europe IT department, local Supply Chain team and Logistics providers – I took a Degree in Economics and Business Management, with a thesis on blockchain technology & logistics.

That (heavy) time taught me that every challenge is an opportunity for personal and professional growth, and that is why I face projects, uncertainties and issues with passion and optimism. Hard work brings results (you have to be fully immersed) and persistence and study are both key ingredients for success. But I know that details matter and mark the difference between a good job and an excellent job.

I know learning trajectories can start in different ways. I describe my learning approach as problem-centred, as I like to learn by analyzing and solving problems.

My bent for complexity helps me both “connecting the dots” starting from clues and gradually reconstructing structures and operations, and transforming a “calculation” into a set of easier calculations. For me, social interaction and effective communication are essential to manage issues and to find solutions. I am therefore comfortable communicating with clients and colleagues.

What I love about my job are the challenging and multicultural environment, my brilliant colleagues, and the continuous improvement culture. This allows me to express myself through the analysis of problems and data, and aligns with my values and my willingness to get out of my comfort zone.

In my previous experience as a Logistics Consultant in various industrial sectors e.g. FMCG, Food & Beverage, Automotive and Manufacturing I have had the opportunity of being part of and leading international projects. As a result, I got to know the importance of logistics and how much value companies can add by optimizing their supply chain.

People

Nowadays business is done with a far more human approach. A successful project requires focused and experienced people that understand the customers needs and wants from both a managerial and operational point of view. Also they need people who are able to deliver the right solutions with tangible results.

Passion

I put passion into my work simply because I strongly believe that simplifying the Supply Chain can create tangible value (not only in cost reduction) for the company and her organization.

This is why I like to define myself as a passionate Business Development Manager always willing to start a new challenge with a customer.

The amount of data available for companies in today’s world is immense. This provides companies with a challenge: how to use the data to improve the business? My background in Econometrics has provided me powerful tools for achieving these improvements.

At BlueRock TMS I focus on finding intuitive, efficient and effective solutions for our customers. I’m very happy to be working in such a young and diverse team. Together there are no problems we cannot solve!

My passion for problem solving does not stop after working hours. In my free time I love playing board games, that make you deal with tough situations and decisions. Furthermore, my hobbies include listening music and playing the piano myself!

I believe that the possibilities of optimization are unlimited and that smart algorithm can help us in our daily decisions. With my Econometrics background, my drive is to provide these tools to help others finding their unique solution.

At BlueRock TMS, I am simplifying real practical faced problems into a mathematical model and give insights in their processes. I face each new problem as a new puzzle that has to be solved and as a new challenge to develop my personal skills.

I like to work in an informal atmosphere (have a personal relation) with our clients and involve them in the entire process. Realizing results is only possible when you work as one team. Appreciation from clients gives me the motivation to optimize tomorrow.

I have always been fascinated with identifying efficiencies and developing processes to assist businesses with their strategy to succeed.  Asking “why” and “why not” are my favorite pastimes to help elicit key pieces of the puzzle. At BlueRock TMS I have the opportunity to ask both while taking advantage of our leading edge inhouse optimization software and deeply skilled team. This combination allows for a complete dissection of current business processes and the ability to redesign, reprocess and rebuild inefficient systems all with the help of one fantastic company.

Being able to clearly define expectations on both sides allows projects and daily operations a higher chance of succeeding.  My years spent as a Business Analyst has provided me with the skills necessary to listen, identify, define and suggest solutions which help to provide customers with their strategic goals as well as implementing practices to support continuous improvement.

I've always had an interest in logistics, and especially the part of improving processes.

In my previous job as manager of the logistics department I learned that if you optimize processes, you always need to keep in mind how that would affect the end-users. IT should always support the process and not the other way around.

As a country manager I am fortunate that I can design the ideal process together with the customer. Next to designing this ideal process I also have the luck to see the project being executed with all the challenges this brings. The key to a successful implementation in my opinion is keeping in mind the long-term partnership and also to have fun!

After studying IT for 6 years in the Ukraine and then working and studying simultaneously I realized I wanted to move abroad and experience life and work in another country.

My enthusiasm grew for The Netherlands when a good friend of mine from university and his girlfriend were very positive about living and working here. The way the Dutch embrace expats instead of treating us like foreigners really gives me a welcoming feeling and is heartwarming.

In my previous work I didn’t get the job satisfaction I’m getting here at BlueRock TMS. Working on projects and getting feedback from colleagues with directness helps make the process efficient.

At the end of each and every day I see progress and results in response to my own decisions, which gives me a great feeling of motivation.

I am Andrew, nice to meet you! I am a software developer from Ukraine. Programming has always been and, hopefully, will be my hobby. I love spending time outdoors running, working out, or just strolling in the park. Recently, travelling has become a part of my interests.

My eyes fell on BlueRock’s position for a Customer Success Analyst for their German speaking customers in a period that the work I was doing wasn’t challenging any more. My main responsibility at that time was solving problems by means of formulas in excel sheets (KPI’s). Even my nick name was “Excel Tobi”, just goes to show how into Excel and formulas I was.

In the course of my 3-year apprenticeship for a carrier my interest for logistics grew and my education in logistics began. Also, to have worked for a pharmaceutical company handling sales operations gave me the chance to gain experience in sales.

Now BlueRock gives me the opportunity to combine my excel/analytical skills with logistic knowledge and to improve these demonstrating skills.

I’m very impressed with the strategic network study within BlueRock, and how we join forces with customers to get the best results.

My way of working is smart and goal orientated, not losing the aim at hand and also asking what the customer wants to achieve to get to the right goal. Taking them by the hand and showing them how they can achieve their goals, makes my day.

As a small kid, I was always very interested in all kinds of technical things.

“How does that toy work?”

In my business career the common thread was always technical things.

Whether it is hardware, network or software development, the solving of technical questions was always a thing that interested me.

My daily work at BlueRock is to solve all those small and big technical questions. How can I set up a rate card that will perform? What function must I write? How to solve this? Etc.

And if it is working, I really can enjoy that moment and be a little proud of myself.

“Software developer by day, crime fighting magic astronaut by night.”

My favorite teacher once told me that I should embrace the university years because once you start, the job of a software developer is never over.

I must admit, he is right. Between the fact that you’ll never get to build all the wonderful application ideas you have and that you’ll never lack books to read in the field, there’s something very addictive to being a developer. Every project you’ll pick up ends up charming you, making you want to solve more and more and with every line of code, you’ll give a bit of yourself to the matrix. But I am not all about coding.

While I believe that creativity, curiosity, intuition, and perseverance are the most important qualities that help me be great at my job, I tend to cultivate them outside of it. I have a large variety of hobbies and I continue to pick up new ones as a challenge. In my spare time I enjoy playing video games and boardgames, clay sculpting, drawing, cycling and by far, the activity that helps me disconnect the most from thinking about work, is reading crime, Sci Fi and Fantasy books. But just like a good book, a good project will keep you hooked. Hobbies help me see problems from different perspectives.

As a developer, to deliver the best product, most times you need to think like the customer, like the manager, and ultimately, like the builder. In my search for new challenges, I joined BlueRock TMS, a place where I found a group of highly enthusiastic people, creative in their solutions that think of all the sides of a story. A team so international and with great talents can only smother you with their contagious excitement for solving problems.

Many things can go wrong in translating a customer requirement into a solution. Therefore it is very important to understand the customer. I think one of the strong parts of BlueRock is that we are talking the customer’s language. This not only applies to the actual language but also includes knowledge and experience. Also my experience from working at a logistics company really helps me in understanding the challenges of our customers.

What always intrigues me is figuring out why things go the way they do and eventually make these things more efficient. This is what I could put into practice during my studies and previous jobs. The field of logistics is ideal for this, it is a dynamic, complex and always changing environment. Combining logistics with IT makes it an endless challenge. This is what I do in my current job as Business Analyst within BlueRock TMS.

In my spare time I love to play football. Lately padel has taken over my interests as well. During my holidays I always look for good spots to go scuba-diving.
